Michael J. Fox offers his new fellow Americans advice for November

I just spotted a neat article about Michael J. Fox.

He has pointed out the impact that stem cell research can have on people like Michael.

CTV.ca | Fox's stem cell ads hit a nerve in U.S. election:
What you do in Missouri matters to millions of Americans. Americans like me, Fox, who is now an American citizen, said in an ad for Claire McCaskill. She is running for the U.S. Senate in Missouri against an incumbent Republican.

The video, available on the online service YouTube, has been viewed there more than one million times.

NATURE. Oceans in Glass: Behind the Scenes of the Monterey Bay Aquarium | PBS

If you have a TV set or a computer capable of recieving HDTV broadcasts, you have to set it up to record one of the showings of "Oceans In Glass".

It is a breath-takingly beautiful presentation of what visitors to the Monterey Bay Aquarium see.

It is a lot easier than hopping in a jet to California to go see it. And, it is really a good show. It shows you views inside the aquarium from angles visitors cannot see.

Plus, it has lots of facts about all the successful marine biology experiments that go on at the aquarium and in the bay. The documentary and the aquarium are both stunning achievements.

Just turn on your set and watch it, or set it up to record it. You can play it back for friends when they come over for a visit and ask what is so great about HDTV.

Their reaction will probably be something like:

Oh...!

It is a fantastic demostration of what HDTV can do that regular TV cannot. Not only that, it is informative and interesting.

NATURE. Oceans in Glass: Behind the Scenes of the Monterey Bay Aquarium | PBS:
Imagine standing on the bottom of the ocean and looking up into a glittering kelp forest alive with darting fish, or watching five-foot-long sharks and giant tuna whiz by at arm's length, or being surrounded by elegant, lacy white jellyfish as they soar, pulsing, through the water. Visitors to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on the coast of Northern California experience all this... and more.

TVShowsOnDVD.com - a great site for a couple of reasons

The website below is really great for a couple of reasons, if you like TV shows and there is one you would like to own so you can watch it whenever you like.

TVShowsOnDVD.com:
This site allows you to vote for shows you'd buy on DVD, and how you'd want to buy them. All you need to do is become a registered member (it's free, don't worry) and then search our database of TV shows, clicking on checkboxes that correspond to how you'd like to see them released (Season sets, "Best of" releases, or individual episodes).

The site lets you find TV series, new and old, that have been released on DVD. It also has links to let you buy them, in case you do not want to hunt around for them on websites or in stores.

It also lets you vote on TV shows that you would like to buy on DVD but still have not made the transition to that format yet.

TVSquad.com has the full list of TV premiere dates for the new Fall season

Believe it or not, even though the season started weeks ago, the debut of new series will not end until a month and a half from now, November 15.

Take a look at TVSquad list of Fall series debut nights.

I just bought Eureka - the Sci-Fi channel series - from Apple

As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, in Taking in Television: SCIFI.COM | Eureka looks like a really interesting TV series.

Well, I bought it yesterday and I have slready downloaded the first episode from the Apple iTunes store.

Apple has become quite the entertainment retailer.

List of free/legal TV shows y ou can watch on the web

TVSquad.com has compiled a list of sites that TV networks/studios have put up which allow you to watch TV shows for free, legally.

Pretty good deal.

Better take advantage of it now. At least some of it is probably geared toward hyping the new Fall TV series.

Probably none of it will stay online for long.
